The statement of denunciation and condemnation concerning the accusations leveled against Mr. Habib Asawid

he Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz, condemns the false accusations leveled against Mr. Habib Asawid, the former president of the movement, by the Iranian occupation. Furthermore, it emphasizes the authorities’ insistence on obtaining false confessions, with the purpose of passing death penalty against him.

Accordingly, the ASMLA, declares its complete rejection of all false accusations leveled by the Iranian regime, noting that the European courts, including the Court of the State of Poland, had previously acquitted Mr. Habib Asawid, of all the false accusations against him.

It is worth mentioning, that Mr. Asawid, has been facing the worst forms of physical and psychological torture in the prisons of the occupation, since his kidnapping on October 9, 2020.

Although, the ASMLA, during its speech at the Italian Senate headquarters in mid-January 2021, in Rome, had warned through its current president, Mr. Saeed Hamidan, about the danger of Iranian intelligence pursuing Ahwazi activists and politicians in exile. Therefore, the movement called on the countries hosting these activists and politicians, to provide them with the protection required.

Accordingly, the ASMLA, calls on the global countries, including the Kingdom of Sweden, human rights organizations and the Human Rights Council, to take immediate action against the Iranian government. And to save the life of Mr. Habib Asawid, who holds European (Swedish) citizenship, and who was under its protection.

The movement affirms that the Iranian regime’s repressive policy of forcibly kidnapping Ahwazi activists and violating the sanctity of European countries, including the Kingdom of Sweden, is inconsistent with the Charter of the United Nations, in addition to all international norms related to international relations and human rights.
