Iranian repressive regime to expand its prisons in Al Ahwaz

Ahwazna

The number of public hospital has not increased as the Ahwaz region has seen markedly growth in numbers of patients diagnosed with various types of cancer linkedto air and water pollution, the situation in Ahwaz education areas regarding education system and infrastructure is worst ever, millions are on the verge of starvation due to the abject poverty plagued the most of Ahwazi Arab families who mostly live in shanty areas unemployed, deprived and  marginalized systematically, but instead of easing the numerous sufferings of Ahwazi Arab people, the repressive regime of Iran has now decided to expand its prisons and build new ones at a cost of hundreds millions.

All these indications corroborate the grim and demonic intentions of Iranain regime against Ahwazi Arab people as the regime top priority is building more prisons than schools and hospitals.

According to report obtained by our Ahwazna sources from Ahwaz that the Iranian regime began in constructing of a new prison on a military area of 470 hectares confiscated from Arab people in the north of Ahwaz near to Elhayi Rural District of Ahwaz capital, in eastern “Main Road”, which connects the cities of Ahwaz and   Susa and away from the main road about ten kilometers.

The Iranian regime is holding more Ahwazi Arab prisoners in prison than ever before— 14,000—and now is expanding its facilities to accommodate another 2,500.

Regarding the capacity of the prison, the reliable internal sources said that it will hold 2500 prisoner. In fact, this prison has been created as a result of the excessive arbitrary arrests among the Ahwazi Arabs and overcrowding of prisons with prisoners and more importantly, at the same time the regime authorities are trying to separate the Ahwazi political prisoners from the rest of non-Political Arab prisoners who were accused with Robbery and possession of arms and drug trafficking to prevent the growing positive impacts played by those Ahwazi Arab political and intellectual prisoners on all those  juvenile prisoners who were victimized by the regime oppressive policies.

In an effort accomplished by the Ahwazi Defence for Human Rights through holding interviews with prisoners who have been released from prisons and wished to remain anonymous, have spotted the conditions that “Ahwazi Arab prisoners who are mostly juvenile suffer from overcrowding, poor medical attention, malnutrition, and dire sanitation and hygiene and miserable conditions. Some former prisoners complained that during their prison terms they never seen the light of day”.

It is said that most of Ahwazi Arab juvenile prisoners would be dead or in jail by the time they were 20. Forget a job, career, education, recreational amenities, the Ahwazi Arab teenager has no concept of growing old when he finds his life dismal and overcasting with dark future, he descends into the trap of narcotics to relieve and forget his chaotic aimless life that was systematized by Iranian regime policies.

There are a lot of things need to be said about the sufferings of Ahwazi Arab youths whose life would be ended in death or prison but without question, there is direct correlation between education and incarceration since the average school dropout among Ahwazi Arab students start often from fourth and fifth grades where on one hand, the poor families are not able to afford the expenses of their children at school and on the other hand, the Iranian education system by Persian language  which imposed on Arab students  to learn Persian language compulsorily in contrast to their willing among  racial discrimination by Persian teachers against Arab students who have difficulty in learning Persian  instead of their native Arabic language.

Is not sad that this obvious connection between prisons and school can be seen in Ahwaz region while the regime spend millions dollars in building up prisons to house more Arab prisoners as  prisons are consistently overcrowded, far too many of our deprived public school districts have schools that are barely half full. The plan to expand

Prisons while schools and hospitals are run down and dilapidated, underfunded and falling apart, highlight the repressive Iranian regimes’ real and anti-Democratic character in following policies of ethnic cleansing against Ahwazi Arabs for more than half of century.

Yes indeed Iranian regime has destroyed the glory and prosperity of Ahwazi Arab people because at one time Ahwazi Arab people were able to live in their homeland peacefully and independently without external interference with having abundant blessings of oil, water, crops, animal and many other things under righteous ruler named Sheikh Khazaal but after Iran’s occupation, the Ahwaz homeland has   systematically been turned into the lands of prisons and gallows by the subsequent Iranian chauvinist regimes.
